We are so pleased to share some favorite images from our featured photographer, Angee Manns of 2B Seen Photography. Angee was the winner of our monthly theme for February so along with being featured she will be guest judging one of our weekly themes.
We asked Angee what inspires her to pick up her camera and start shooting,
'For me, there are two main reasons. First and foremost, to document our lives. More specifically, to document MY life. I watched my grandmother suffer from Alzheimer's for fifteen years before she passed. The last time she knew who I was was roughly twelve years prior to that. I am terrified of forgetting. I started scrapbooking in 1997 so that I can remember what, where, when, and who years down the road. I do this for myself, but I also do this for my son. His life is well documented and I want him to be able to see all of his childhood in photos and relive those memories, even if I'm unable to tell him the stories.
Secondly, I do this as a creative outlet. I have this strong desire to create something beautiful. As a senior in high school I discovered a love for photography and that has stayed with me all of these years. In my adult life I have discovered that photography is my creative outlet of choice and it allows me to create something unique to me and my vision. The camera is an extension of me. It feeds my creative soul.'
