We are so pleased to share some favorite images from our featured photographer, Elizabeth Willson of It's Still Life Photography. Elizabeth was the winner of our monthly theme for March so along with being featured she will be guest judging one of our weekly themes and taking part in our '30 minutes in the life' blog circle.
We asked Elizabeth what inspires her to pick up her camera and start shooting.
"After four consecutive years of completing a Project 52, as 2016 rolled around I felt the internal 'push' to complete a 365. My goals were two-fold: to capture our life as it unfolds and to elevate my photography to a distinctive height. Little did I know I was embarking on a journey of depth and soul, of connection and challenge… Picking up my camera every day has enabled my vision to broaden. It has helped me to see: light, relationship, uniqueness, and creation. And has moved me beyond someone who “takes good pictures” to one who discovers beauty and creates art. This shift in vision – of myself and my craft – has brought freedom. Freedom to release self-imposed and others’ expectations and truly embrace my unique view through my lens. It is in this freedom that I have found joy and passion, the everyday in every day. I have recognized that my Creator continues to create, each morning anew. He provides the opportunities for me to capture my treasured humans yet also the intricacies and details of living. So each day, with gratefulness, I observe and perceive, I open my heart and my vision, I utilize the tools of photography, and I share. While feeding and expressing my soul I hope I’m drawing hearts to thanksgiving and inspiring beauty and joy."
